Matthew's stepmother Elizabeth Weekes had a sister called Hannah who married Willingham Franklin. Willingham and Dr Flinders (Matthew's father) were friends. Hannah and Willingham Franklin were the parents of John, Thomas, James, Willingham(?), Mary and Elizabeth Franklin.
