Served in HMS 'Bellerophon' in 1794 with Flinders, after he had been pardoned in 1792 for his part in the mutiny of the Bounty (Bligh's first breadfruit expedition to Tahiti). Promoted to Post Captain in 1803. Served under Admiral Rainier.
