Letter from Sir Thomas Pasley to Matthew Flinders (2 of 2) (FLI01)
Bellerophon {Plymouth}
Aug 7th 1793
Dear
Flinders
I am favored with your very
acceptable letters from the Downs and I believe
all yours from the different places you wrote
me – I have by this days past likewise come
from St [illegible] Jamaica day May 22?
I do not know what are your plans
now you are returned back to England.
I expect to sail in a day or two to
join my
Lord Howe on board the
Bellerophon. I shall receive you with
pleasure – after so long an Absence
you will no doubt wish to see your
friends pay them a short visit and return
to join me, by that time I shall probab-
ly be returned into Port – if not you will
only find a conveyance from Portsmouth
or Plymouth by applying to the respective
Admls they are both my friends – your
Bills have been duly paid by my
Agent Mr McCullock Jefferies Square to
the Amount I believe of 20 Guineas
the former little Bills were I think
paid by your friends – you may settle
with him at your own conveniency
he will shew you what he has paid
Your Capt. will [illegible] a very [illegible]
[illegible] – he has Damn'd himself.
I think he has a Hhd of wine on board
for me – let it be sent to Mr McCullock
who will pay the Duty and order it
to be put into my Cellar in Wilbeaks
[illegible] House – you have not said how
I am to addreƒs you – I shall suppose
by this time at Deptford – I am
My dear Flinders
Yours very sincerely
Thos Pasley
Take the trouble to call on my Brother
