Letter from the French Marine Minister (3 of 3) (Rough translation) (FLI03) Page 1


The Head of the Fifth Division of the Minister of the Navy and the Colonies under the orders of the Minister acknowledges the correspondence from the Commissioner of Transport relative to the department of Prisoners of War.
He acknowledges and testifies that which pertains to M Flinders, English navigator, who was arrested at the Ile de France, that it is lawful to release him from all commitment which he agreed to in this Colony or elsewhere against His Imperial and Royal Majesty and that consequently he is free to return to his Service.
