Letter from Matthew Flinders to Ann Flinders (12 of 41) (FLI25) Page 1

Address:
The Revd Mr Tyler
    Partney near Spilsby
        Lincolnshire
For Mrs Flinders

Stamped: SHIP LETTER
Annotated: Jany 1802

                Investigator C. of G. Hope Oct. 31 1801

Tomorrow, my dearest love, we sail from this place.
I wrote to thee ^ a weeks since, and the letters is on its way.
If thou hast not got it already, it is on its way will
soon be at Partney. Pray, my love, look anxiously after
opportunities of telling me all that occurs to thee. I should
very much like to have a short journal of thy trans-
-actions; and from the some little sketch of
thy intimates. If thou visitest my father, or any of my
friends, whether they treated thee kindly, or how. The
most trifling circumstance that occurs to thee will be inte-
-resting me. Those who are not friends to thee, I cannot
consider to be friends to me.
Mr Crosley leaves us at this place, the state of
his health being such that he thinks it best to go no
farther; thus another office devolves upon me. Other-
-wise, we are all in good health and spirits.
When thou seeest Mr F. at Boston, pray give my
best regards to him and to Mrs F.
Adieu, my dearest best love, I have nothing further
