Letter from Matthew Flinders to Rev W Tyler (1 of 2) (FLI25) Page 1

To the Rev. W. Tyler Partney near Spilsby Lincolnshire

Isle of France April 26. 1804
My dear Sir
Lest my letter of Dec. 31 last from this place should
not have reached you, I again write, that I am a prisoner in this
island with very little prospect of being soon set at liberty. I beg
you will inform my friends of the circumstance, and especially
that dear friend under your protection to whom I cannot write
in my present unhappy situation. Add, if you please, that I am re-
-covered from the scorbutic state in which I last wrote, and at this
time am in very good health.
Believe me, my dear Sir, to be, with the greatest regard
your sincere friend and humble servant
                Mattw Flinders
