August all well, and Capt Flinders gave the above intelligence
to his Excellency the Governor of New South Wales with the addition that
he left his companions, about 80 in number with three months
provisions. Very little doubt was entertained but they would all be
saved. The Governor had given Directions for veƒ [sic] of
the crew. On the 9^th of September when last accounts came away,
no further intelligence had been received. The weather was then
moderate. The conduct of the officers and crew on the above melancholy
occasion merits the highest encomiums.
