Sir,
My letter to you of the
18th June last, has just been retd
to my hands, no opportunity having
offered of placing it in your hands
by the occasion I expected. —
I now forward it a second
time with my acknowledgements
for your's [sic] of the 13th August,
containing a Narrative of those
Circumstances, which by previous
information had much interested
me in your present distreƒsful
Situation. I trust however that
although from the Circumstances
already stated in my former
letter, I am withheld from an
active Interference for your
            release
To
Captain Flinders
late Commander of H M Ship

release, that Measures will have
been taken for that purpose
by the respective Governments
at home, and that the Mediation
already employed in view to
that Object will have had the
desired effects.

            I am, Sir
      Your very obedt Servt
            EdPellew
